manicure

yesterday morning mom noticed a scratch on my cheek. that evening she commented to dad that she thought it was time to cut my fingernails. dad agreed... i had scratched him that morning. i didn't mean it, i swear!

so after changing my bum mom and dad cracked open the baby nail grooming kit and decided to use the little pair of scissors to give me my very first manicure. i behaved myself perfectly through the whole ordeal - they had just cleaned my poopy bum afterall, so i cut them some slack...

dad did the trimming while mom held me. she seemed pretty paranoid and wouldn't even watch. chill out, mom!

  1. Here's what my sister used to do, as she felt far more comfortable (ie: less paranoid!) about it: she chewed her kids' nails when they were babies, because they were soft and it was easy. This was after my other sister nipped the edge of Maggie's finger with mini-baby-nail-clippers, making her bleed!

There. I've just said far too much on the interweeb.
    Love Charlotte's site!!

  2. My mum said that was what she was told to do when she had us kids. I'm not convinced that I wouldn't accidently bite her finger off! LOL Thankfully B isn't a big ol' ball of nerves like me and didn't mind doing the deed. The scissors we used did seem a lot less scary than clippers, at least!
